When it comes to dads I won the lottery. My dad was never big on going to school functions or little league games when I was young. He was more of a watch me and learn kinda dad. He taught me how to change a tire and my oil, install a faucet, snake a drain and fix a leaky shower, I could go on but you get my point. He loves my mom very much but he also loves what he calls “A Pretty One” which is any kind of mixed drink containing alcohol. My dad has always known how to have a good time and has taught his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren just that.
If by chance you’re reading this blog and you don’t know my dad you’re missing out on knowing a legend..... ya that’s right I said legend. He’s known by such names as Big John, Johnny, Chief, Bar Tender, Uncle John, Ol' Guy, The Ol' Man, Papa, Grumpa, Grampa and my personal favorite Dad You’re Crazy. Anyone within driving distance knows he’s only a phone call away if they need something fixed or need him to do some “Water Witching” (look it up it’s a real thing). In closing I would just like to say in case you didn’t know I’m very, very proud to be one of John Keith’s daughters and dad if you’re reading this thanks for helping me paint yesterday.

ReplyDeleteGotta love John Keith and the whole Keith family. I think they were everyone's family at some point in time! Always had a hug and a smile and a place at the table or bar for everyone!

ReplyDeleteO.K, I know I said I thought your peanut butter bar recipe was your best photo of the day (lol), but this by faaaaarrrr is your best photo of the day! ReplyDeleteYou and I both won the lottery. Enjoy your dad. I wish my dad was still here.
ReplyDeleteMost of you haven't known John Kieth as long as I have, he made me the person I am today, I missed out on having a dad so John just kind of took his place for me. He did all kinds of things for me and taught me lots of stuff. But most of all he took me hunting & fishing which kept me busy and gave me something to focus on.I had to have good grades to take off on fridays and go hunting on the weekends With John Greatest man I ever knew just about sums it all up.
ReplyDeleteYour Brother-inlaw/Son Dan
He certainly is one of a kind. And what Dan wrote is so sweet!!! Anyone who doesn't love John Keith has a rock for a heart!!
ReplyDeleteProud to be his daughter! I love my daddy! Can't wait until next week to see him and then having him here in TN for a week next month! Love you, Dad!
